Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Mike, always sad that Norge stooped to such hype

also known as the "Deep Rinse" The directions were to use the washer to rinse as well as wash. And to place the drain hose in the tub and engage the pump as the load rinsed. That's it. I was so excited when first seeing this on the tub of a friends's washer when I was a teenager, expecting some amazing washer fireworks. What a disappointment. Trivia: never heard it referred to as rapid rinse; all the labels I've seen read, "Deep Rinse." His mum had the manual. Really enjoyed that.

But they're really good machines and the timers seem never to fail.

the weird thihng about the Rapid Deep Rinse

is that the Norge Drain port is exposed so the load keeps blocking and unblocking the pump action, as the load turns over, so the pump keeps shooting and stopping. Maybe that's what's rapid about the rinse. Chuckle.[this post was last edited: 1/4/2012-11:43]

That exposed drain opening at the bottom of the tub led the testers at both CU and Consumers Research Bulletin to say that those machines caused excessive wear on clothes because the agitation caused them to rub over that rough spot. They much preferred designs like Maytag's with the opening under the agitator.
