NOS Maytag Damper PN 203725

This seller originally had five of these listed for eight dollars each. I only wanted two, but the eBay checkout wasn't allowing him to send me a correct invoice to reflect actual shipping charges prior to paying. As a result he cancelled the listing and posted a new one showing just the two that I wanted along with the correct shipping charge. This means he should still have three more of these. The ones I got arrived yesterday in the original Maytag packaging, and they are flawless. If anyone else is interested you should contact him about them and ask him to re-list the remaining dampers. Even with shipping factored in it'd be hard to beat the price.

David, will this fit an A700?  I'm building up my parts box for when things start to go on mine.

I'm afraid not, Jason.

The damper for the older machines, like the A700, had a different enough shape to make them incompatible with the later models(think 06 series and beyond). The part number you want is 201455, or 2-1455 if you prefer. These days they're most likely to be found on another machine, so with that in mind, no machine with a good condition 2-1455 damper assembly should go to the scrapper with the damper installed. That being said, I found one of them still in its original Maytag packaging a couple of years ago at an old mom and pop appliance repair shop. They thought they'd never sell the darn thing and were as glad to see it go as I was to get it! So I guess that means you just never know.

 

With any luck if your damper pads are in good condition and kept properly lubed you won't have to deal with this issue, but you're very wise to be looking for one anyways. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for these!  I have a store locally I may hit up; they aren't an appliance place, but they carry a lot of NOS parts for quite a lot of appliances, as well as older model vacuums.
