Not Lady Kenmores but still respectable

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Oh WOW!

My childhood Kenmore set, but ours were turquoise. Lasted a family of seven until 1986. Suds saver too.
I don't recall my dad ever having to do a major repair on them. I remember the washer being very rusty.

I disagree. They may have been built in '63, but I think they are 64 70 series models. I can post pictures later, but the '63 models control panel is similar to my '62's but with a different dial set up.

Classicaprice:

They are a 1963 set, which was around for a couple of years. The turquoise one that with the console like your 62 is also a 63 model. Most times, there were 2 model groups within the same series ranking. The first was usually a standard model with the basic controls like the set above, and the second one was slightly more upscale, mostly featuring the alphabet style cycle layout on the dial as the turquoise model does. The washer that is subject in this thread has a model number that reads as 110.63047**, and the # for the turquoise one you show above is 110.63147**. If I recall correctly, the digit after the model year indicates the group within a model series. The turquoise model having the 1 after the 63 indicates that it is amongst the second group of 70 series models offered that year.

I think, not sure that the console in the OP or very similar to it was used on the early Lg. Capacity machines?

Gas Dryer

Is the "Igniter" something that can be replaced on a dryer this old. Also, I remember a thread here some time back where a place that repaired timers was talked about. Does anyone remember that thread?

"Listing Expired"

I looked for the listing in L A & the link says "Listing Expired"! Does anyone have access to that listing? I wanted to contact those sellers to see if the washer and dryer are still available.
