In reason #2

That is the Frigidaire Thermizer (deep well) pan in the top rack!! Is the disposer made by National? I still have trouble believing that GM did not get that dw design from Youngstown and that with all of their engineers, they could not come up with something better. If nothing else, that design with a whupass wash arm in the bottom to really do a number on pots and pans.

Thanks again, Steve!

Wow - would this be THE first incarnation of a Frigidaire dishwasher??
The timer dial, silver basket, detergent cup and racks look very similiar to the ones in my almost-there 58 DWUW.
Thank you for sharing this find with us, Steve!!

thank you !

Thank you for posting this.  What a treat!  1955 was the year my parents got married.  And our first dishwasher, some years later, was an early 70's or late '60's Frigidaire dishmobile with the slant/flip top.  Was the delux model also with the electronic push button controls.  Would love to find one of those.

Steve, when did the Frigidaire designed top loading dishwashers replaced those from D&M? Also, did all D&M Frigidaire dishwashers had an impeller like my 1965 Super mobile dishwasher?

When?

With the introduction of the "P" models, I think about 1969. And later D&M designed models had the wash arm systems like Kenmore, etc. I think impeller designs pretty much stopped by 1965-66.

Great luncheon read, Steve, Thanks!

Delighted by the way the portable looks so much like the WO-65's. Amazing. And that hose, complete with the aluminum hook, just like the washer's. Never saw one of these before. The wanting never stops. :'D Getting a kick out of the pretty lady in the matching green apron watering her plant that lives on the green "cabinet" model.

Wondering if anyone enjoys this machine. The drawing of the spintube's water spirals is so enticing. Ah Frigidaire..........

The funny thing

is in spite of their "mediocre" performance there are still some in existance! Robert, Turquoisedude, Dishwashercrazy all have one. I have 2, but mine are from 1963 and 1964. I use mine at the holidays and it always cleans flawlessly.

Steve, I still have a certain pink Canadian 62 model, too!! It is a wonderful threat to hold over hubby - I think it would look great in the apartment in Montreal... LOL
