Ok I have a stupid question....

I know others here have serveral washers hooked up to one drain...but I am thinking...

If these washers drain at the same time, is there a chance of overflow in the drain pipe? Just wondering.

I know there are others here, who have more than one washer hooked up like this, and wondered if this was ever a problem.

Hmmm, looks like the plumber got a little too happy with the torch. Hope it didn't burn the insulation all the way through.

Based on my own experience, I don't think it's going to cause too much of a problem. In my house, I have the bathtub draining into the same pipe that my compact TL whirlpool is on. I have had the occasion when the washer, and the tub are both draining at the same time, and neither one backs up. I believe that is a 2 inch pipe they installed for you there. That ought to be enough I think for 2 washers to drain together...now 3 OTOH may be an issue!

Looks like a fully hipped roof. Good choice for areas subject to high winds. Makes the whole house stronger, too.

The dual laundry hookup looks great, too. But I'm wondering why they didn't put a stub of pipe above each water supply faucet. Those are supposed to help prevent water hammer. However, there are devices you can add on later if this is a problem.

Probably not. It looks like the electrical supply is going into the third open stud bay... and that's all the space it looks like there is. I don't see a problem putting two washers side by side, with one filling/emptying to the right, and one to the left. Kind of like a "dressing to the right or left?" kind of debate, LOL.

High winds

Well, yesterday, during a bad storm, a small twister came and pulled two pieces of plywood off of my roof and demolished the frame of another house going up. So yeah, my house had more strength due to the roof being on.

Thanks for the pics, Jason, it's fun keeping up with the construction progress with you. Your laundry room looks very nice, I like that there are separate hot and cold faucets for supply lines - you can adjust your warm temps to whatever you like.

Glad the roof saved your home, and that the damage was minimal, and moreover that nobody was hurt. I think hipped roofs are more expensive to build, but from a structural integrity standpoint, they are worth it.

Will there be appliances on the patio?

It's been raining the past few days so that slowed things down, but hopefully the roofers will come out and put the shingles on. The window has to move over a little for the fireplace but the builder said at no cost.

The main question I get from everyone that goes in the house is...

"Why are there 2 washer hookups" and I have to explain my madness.
