Now This Is A Vacuum Cleaner!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

It is, and it's very nice. It's one of the last of the Hoover convertibles and as well all know they are one of the best vacuum cleaners ever. I'll bet it goes for big bucks...I'll guess it sells for $195.. anyone else care to guess?

there was another one that recently sold and it was for $50 something with $20 something shipping

Looks very nice!

But $200 its not...
I think thats about what it cost new...

That is the cleanest one of those I have ever seen!

pete, i say it goes for between 100 and 150 dollars. there are two or three ebayers out there that COULD drive the price up to 200 if they decided to duke it out.

You're now that close Pete?

4 hours is not far away at all!
There are many MANY more of these Decades out there to be found.

Now if you want to talk about something that is worth breaking the bank for this would be it:

Alex...

They are both beautiful machines, but fear not, if these are not won, there will be more, and perhaps for less $$$.

Patience and perserverence will get you any cleaner you want. Don't put yourself into the poor house, there will most certainly be more of these!

I have to admit I would not mind having that Elite, but I will pass and save the $$$ for the trip to Tucson. What's even more rare than an 80th anniversary Elite is my getting to go someplace warm with the BF for a few days!

THAT WAS OUR UPSTAIRS ELITE!!!

We had two elites, a elite limited upstairs and a grey legacy down... the upstairs elite was won from a vacuum store and the legacy was bought @ the same vacuum store. I broke the limited, i could kill myself for doing that!, i droped it down the stairs for a eureka whirlwind, i did not know these were so rare! I rebember the limited sign and 80th aniversary badge too! and the thing was LOUD. the legacy was OK>

I wonder how man of the 80th anniversary models they made?

There were anniversary models all thru the years, not all of them designated as such though.

The 1100 DAM was for the 55th anniversary
The 1120 DAM was the 60th anniversary
The Concept One was for the 70th anniversary.
There was also a 75th anniversary Convertible with a dust cup in 1983

Model 66 was the "official" 50th anniversary model, but there were also 20,000 gold/white model 65's made as well, which were given away as prizes.

One Thing I will say

Vacraftnational always has beautiful vacuum cleaners for sale.
Evan won a beautiful and in mint condition A bison Mark II and A Eureka Empress from them. He has since sent them to me and boy I'm totally impressed with those vacuums as well.

Seller's copy is "Greek to me" but it's fo

....and we say "It's Chinese to me." It's all relative I suppose.

Fascinating: The box had slight water damage but is intact with the original packing. However, I decline further comment/analysis.

Jeff, what makes the "limited edition" special? That fact alone?

Steve,
What makes this Limited edition so special is it was not offered for sale to the public, and was instead given away as a promo item or a premium item.

Hoover made 20,000 Golden model 65 Convertibles for the 50th anniversary in 1958, they too were given away as prizes and premiums. Back then the contest was whoever brought in the oldest Hoover for a trade would win a new Golden Convertible.
Now if a Golden Convertible were to turn up unused, that would have my attention!
