Have a co worker say that his 6 year old Oasis is going out of balnace every load in spin cycle.  I told him to look for a broken spring on the tub or a spring that has come looses.  Any other things for him to look at?

Broken suspension rods or possibly a broken (and now empty) balance ring.

I've heard that worn suspension rods is fairly common.

Assuming it's an F&P-based model, there are two balance rings, at top and bottom of the basket.  They're integral to the basket, not separate items, so the entire inner basket would have to be replaced if the rings crack/leak.

It is the one with the bottom disc not the agitator.  I did tell him to remove the case and look at the suspenison and will tell him to check the balance rings.  I have not seen it but can go over in the nextday or two.  He says it will spin after they move clothing around overwise thump thump and it stops.

 

If it is the inner two balance rings is it worth fixing.  They have 2 older boys and a 10 year old daughter.
