A visit to my local Sears store today was my first exposure to the Oasis line of machines. Questioning the saleslady who came over did not shed much light on the technical aspects of the things---as expected.
When viewing the non-agitator machine I asked if the disc turned in one direction for a bit, pause, then reverse directions. "Oh no" she said----"the reps. told us it only turned in one direction". I then commented that if it did turn in only one direction, it must turn rather slowly to keep from causing damage to the fabrics being washed. "Yeah you are right" she said. Oh well, I'll have to wait for Jasonl to work some of his photographic magic.
The agitator type was not exactly what I expected. The fins seemed too limber to give strong water currents----event at a fast speed. Anyone got any ideas on that? When I commented about the lack of a window in the lid of the agitator type, the saleslady mumbled something about that being the gimmick used to bump people up to the non-agitator type.
The tub and suspension system seemed just like the F&P so maybe that is the connection for the high speed spin feature.
Can't wait to hear some REAL feedback from "our crowd"!
