There some weird stuff that I have been collecting for a while now, but I don't know anything about it. (as in manufactuers, etc) and I thought I'd check with you guys to see if any of it looks familiar.

First off are these little buffet warmer things. They are non-electric (use a sterno to keep things warm, which can be problematic at times) but they are just so cute!

The 400 is great Lawrence. I haven't used it as much as I'd like because it's been so warm, but so far I have no complaints. Still trying to sort out that thermostatic burner mess and get the wiring back in order, but that will happen eventually.

I love that pink pan on the edge of the stove. Is it ceramic, or painted metal, or that cast irony stuff like Le Crueset? All the pieces are just great!

Eugene, I agree with you about the Buffet warmer things. They are my favorite. They're not only cool looking, they are very well constructed: The metal is high quality, and those ball feet look to be made from quality wood.

That's why I'm so suprised there's not a label on them. I dont' think they are a northwesty thing either - the biggest one came from a thrift store in Omaha and the double one came from someplace back east (via eBay).

The table is a "Gangso" from Denmark. The china cabinet is from the Salvation Army. There's no label on it, but I suspect that it is homemade (by someone who knew what he was doing)

I like the table because those built-in tiles don't need trivets, plus it's cool looking. I reminds me of something that you would see in a Coco's Restaurant. (do they even have Coco's anymore?) Not exactly my era, but the Danish were always ahead of us stylistically, so it could be early 60's.

Gangso tables show up on eBay from time to time, and some of them are really cool - there was one in Vegas a while back that was like ours, but with much cooler tilework.

Sorry, sounds similar, though

Descoware is porcelainized cast iron, but this is by Nesco, National Enameling & Stamping Company. I remember seeing this in savings stamp catalogs, so if anyone has a premium catalog to check, we might find the real name. Again, I'm sorry for the misinformation. Tom

Dan, those buffet warmers look like a fleet of minature alien spacecraft have descended upon your kitchen! Very neat stuff you have there, you definitely have a knack for finding some cool stuff!
