Hey all, I have just had a nosey at my companies website, and it appears we have some new stuff.

Looks like Indesit are giving their machines a facelift and rolling out the innex feature http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/househ...1451w-washing-machine-white-22093832-pdt.html

Lg have released a couple of new machines which look very smart. They seem to feature nfc which is interesting

There is also a odd looking Beko, which seems to look rather like a Samsung

None of the new zanussis as of yet. I hear Braun are launching a range of small appliances, which is good news, they have been out the market for sometime

Hotpoint are also launching their new microwaves. There are six models, solo microwave, microwave with grill and a combination, either in stainless steel or black. They would appear to be Midea creations

I really like the new Beko's ( there was a thread on them here a couple of months back) but not in black am afraid. Am not a fan of coloured appliances. The new LG's are really nice too although am not too sure how effective the spray rinsing would be when turbo wash is selected.

Do you have a link Paul?

I must admit, they seem rather smart, a big change from the cheap junky image Beko are known for, but i agree about the black, it seems very faddy. Can't beat good old white!

Completely disagree. Beko have been proving themselves, over the last few years, that they're certainly the best choice for the lower end of the market. I'd sooner own a high end Beko over a low or mid-range Hotpoint or Hoover.

We had a 1400rpm Excellence that belonged to my partner - we sold it when we moved in together. It was a fab machine. Washed well and one of the best rinsing machines I've ever used.

That Innex link is to a current model. The new Innex models feature 2 small dials, and some feature also a small display (XWD, XWC models).

The new Beko's look all right, but wont be buying one.
The LG's are also nothing new.

Hotpoint aren't making the microwaves, there made by a different company under license.

Not trying to sound horrible or rude here, but Curry's seem rather slow with the new Hotpoint/Indesit range and in terms of the LG's and Beko's many exist elsewhere first, whereas Previously Curry's was first for new things. I hope this will be looked at in future.

@aquacycle, I did not mean it like that, I mean Beko did some terrible stuff years ago, their stuff has greatly improved. Their Grundigs in my opinion feel sturdier than Bosch.

@glenfieldmathk1
The Hotpoint microwaves I believe are made by a Chinese company called Midea, which make almost every other microwave out there

The early Beko's with the mechanical timers were brilliant. They had metal paddles too. IMO, it was the first range of digital timer models and first condenser dryers that gave them the bad rep, but they've come on leaps and bounds since then.

With regards to Midea, they also make White Knight and Currys Essentials Dishwashers. Hotpoint outsourcing is nothing new - their dishwashers and vacuums were made by BSH group for years and the vacuums they're currently branding are also outsourced, but it's nice to see the Hotpoint name on other appliances.

Beko

Anyone who has been on here for the past 5 or so years will know my thoughts on Beko.

Basically, I predicted that once they incorporated the technology and quality that was inherent in Blomberg, which they bought in 2002, they would become very good....even desirable machines.

.....and they are.

So much so that I bought one when our Westinghouse badged Zanussi died a couple of months ago.

I love the cycles....it is quiet and certainly cleans better. My only concern is that it is fussy when going into spin, with loads that the W/house would just spin, often being spun at a lower RPM. This has mainly been on flannel sheets rather than clothing or towels, so can certainly live with it...but I will be contacting Beko if it does it again this weekend. They can come and have a look whilst under warranty and possibly tweak the position of the OFB sensors.

Here is the link to one of the threads.

Thanks paul, yes they look so much better in white, never would I ever thought I would say but I like the look of a Beko / Grundig.
I guess thats probably a lot of what it boils down to.

I had another look on our website today and we are showing the new Zanussis. The jury is still out, but I see they are proper leccylux and not that dreadful little swan nonsense.

I have seen some Hotpoints on there too, with chrome doors, are these new too?

Looking elsewhere, Smeg are launching some small appliances in september, available in a few colours. Me love!

Black appliances

On the subject of Black Appliances that Paul and Adam mentioned. have just bought a Black appliance, a Russell Hobbs Tumble dryer (linked below).

I didn't chose it for it being black, I chose it due to the features it had, and was not available in any different colour; thankfully it's in laundry room, so not too important on colour.

Although gotta say, it looks comical with a White LG washer, Chrome Kenwood Dishwasher and now Black RH Dryer.

However, going back to your point, I am not overly impressed with the Black, the appliance does not look "new-ish" to me (it was unboxed Saturday) :( in the light you can see the scratches that you inevitably get on plastic during mass manufacturing, and it shows dust like a b**ch.

So if looks were important over features, I wholly agree with you, would not go for Black.

Yes the Hotpoint Chrome models are new (the Ultima s-line), just like their Smart range (you guys are also now selling), and the new Aquarius+ range (you are also now selling).
Juts like the new First edition you also now selling, and a range of new Tumble dryers from Hotpoint, you guys finally got the new stuff in!!

I was looking at those Smeg small appliances the other day - and I'm not entirely convinced. I don't think the branding being that prominent works on such small appliances, to me it looks a little comical on the kettle and blender particularly.

Any idea who is making these for Smeg? At least, that's assuming they're not making them themselves.
