Hello,

Guess i can finially concider these two classics. Thought I'd share the pics, took these two home from auction a few weeks back. I'll keep the kenmore and sell the digital whirlpool. So nice to finially have a working 3 port pump model =)

MAN those belt-driven Kenmore/Whirlpool washers are HEAVY!!!!

I heard members talking about their weight on here but I really underestimated them until I bought one! It has to weigh 250 lbs. or more! And I thought the Maytag was heavy...my '82 Kenmore is probably the heaviest washer I've ever moved!

What I learned is that if you strap the machine firmly to the dolly then you can pretty much move it anywhere without someone helping you get it up.

Here's a pic of my washer; it's in the shop now because it spilled its water all over the floor...

I learned indirectly(the machine was being delivored to me)is that the filter side of the washer has to face away from your cart so the tub doesn't crush it as you lift the washer on the truck. He had to delivor another one.Yes I helped him lift the washer-strapped to the cart into the house-and yes was heavy. Also had to help him in moving a machine down-so it wouldn't pull him down the porch steps.
Austin: what type of agitator does your washer have shown in your picture?

It looks like you got three great classic's and I have the same TOL Kenmore and the original TOL Kenmore with the click and turn DAA. They are great machines for their time and the crap they making now does not compare to those superman of steel washers!

Hold on to them and happy washing!
