I just had to vent... I was expecting the 1956 GE All-In-One all-electric kitchen and matching wall-mount refrigerator to be delivered to my home today and while the movers got there, they were unable to get up the drive and unload the appliances! AAAAARGGGH! I managed to arrange for storage with the moving company until March or April when the snow goes away again. And I suppose it will be good to not to have them stuck in the living room all winter... But I am still disappointed... SIGH!!

Plan Ahead

I am surprised you did not scope this out and plan ahead. Don't make it hard on yourself. Stay sane and cool. Remember,...you did not think this out. Sorry to say it bud but ultimately you have to think these things out. Movers only take orders to pick items up in one location and deliver them to another.

Stop and think about it. Make common sense plans in any move. Scope the territory out always.

I am sorry you have this problem. Have you ever thought about moving to a warmer climate? Perhaps you would like a move to the U.S.? Georgia is a good place to live. If you can stand 105 degree's in the summer. It is really a beautiful place, just about six weeks in summer that it is hot and humid.

Count your blessings my son.....

you have the individual appliances and they are yours even if they have to sit idle a while.

Or you could move here next door to me in sunny Georgia and we could have mint juleps on the veranda.

Love Ya,

Georgia sounds delightful!!

Ah, there are many times that I ask myself why I don't move somewhere warmer...

Greg,
You are so right that I didn't think this one through (my partner reminded me of this repeatedly last night - lol). Still I have waited this long to find this set of appliances so what's another couple of months? Focusing positive...

Pete,
believe it or not, I have never owned a snowblower! In Montreal I live in an apartment and the country houses have always had driveways that are measured in kilometres... One of the to-get items in '08 is definitely a snow blower of some kind!

I was watching the news last night and supposedly both snow blowers and snow shovels are very much in short supply in all of Canada right now because of the severe winter storms that have been occurring all across the country.

Gary

They seem to be short on them among city of Montreal workers, too! I know we've had a mild winters in the past few years, but eeesh! they seem to have forgotten how to deal with snow here! Ironically, out in the Eastern Townships, the roads are well-cleaned and sanded...
