this means my Apex Wash-A-Matic is still in the crate...

Wouldn't it be great if they found hundreds of these NIB forgotten in a large warehouse?!

I know where there's a Jacobs Launderall still on the shipping pallet... At least I think it's still there, given price the seller was asking for it!

Wonder if a brand-new one of those would also start a fire?? (ducks and runs....)

I love that cast aluminum stamp.

I was wondering if you guys can help me find all the NIB washers that have been discovered here and their associated threads. I know Robert has found a new Kenmore and a new GE. I believe Greg N has a brand new Kenmore. Any others?

Eddie posted this auction over in the Shopper's Square

Early this morning.

Interesting item no doubt, but unless one lives locally count on shipping costing as much or more than the opening bid. That is if you go with a professional outfit. You might find someone else to do it for less but then "you pays your money and takes your chances"....

It looks,,,,,

restored/painted to me. Not NIB. Hate to be skeptical....

Just seems to be too many scratches on the top where the lid attaches and on the model number label, it looks as if there was masking tape removed covering said label during the painting process...

Good point!!

Look at the inside tub. I've seen these aluminum tubs brand new and they look polished. Very shiny. This one looks like it has some use all right. At the very least it's had water in it before. It might be "low mileage" but "no mileage"?

I do believe......

I do believe the wringer washers were crated. I have seen instructions on "uncrating" them. AND THIS IS A PUMP MODEL!. Holy crap for sure. I see 30 year old models going for outrageous prices. $499 doesn't seem bad. Someone in PA paid $750 for one NIB about 8 years ago.

Or just hoarding....

In another thread about wringer washers a member (Combo?) mentioned that many housewives purchased second washers of that type upon hearing (or fearing) they wouldn't be able to find another after Maytag announced it was ceasing production.

Sadly or happily for them their original Maytag wringers outlived them (or just keeps on chugging) so the NIB machine is surplus to requirements.

Greg, I think You are right. That looks very much like a military fashioned packing crate. It would certainly explain the different shades of plywood and improvised packing materials. Would also explain why the seller thought it was brand new. I do agree it looks very low use. A
