was surfin craigs list tonite (that always gets me in trouble) and what did i find? a kd-17 white portable front loader that has been in storage most of it's life! like the true dishwasher addict i am i could not pass up the opportunity to make an offer. i am awaiting their reply. here's a couple pics. i don't have a front load portable (yet) in my kitchenaid collection so it's obviously meant to be. gee, what room will i put this one in? i don't have one in the bathroom yet!

Towel Bar

I bet that towel bar comes in handy when moving the dishwasher to sink. There is hardly anything to grab on to on my Whirlpool portable. I was thinking of adding a couple handles on the front of the cutting board to see it that would help any.

OOH! Those are nice machines! I remember seeing quite a few of them in the kitchens of friends families in the mid to late 70's. Hope you get it!!

try it you'll like it

when it comes to playin around with dishwashers if i get an idea i usually try it out! grab a handle or two at home depot or lowes and see how it works! if you don't like it, it's easily removed and you can easily repair any screw holes with some wood putty if you like.

yes, portable dishwashers were very big in the 70's, not everyone had a built in, we didn't. we had a G.E. portable that i used to love to roll over to the sink and connect to the faucet every nite. it was the best thing about dinner!

imperial it is

yea i think imperial too, i can see a timer dial and what looks like 2 buttons, actually i did buy it and am going to pick it up next week.

my bathroom is too small also altho it would be a hoot to have one in there, you know to wash my tooth brush and mug and disposable razors. alas, it will find it's resting spot in my living room with an occasionbal trip to the kitchen to keep it running once in a while.
