Brianne: HI GIRL, that MUST be you! Good to see you floating around us again!
Frigilux/ Eugene Said: Toggle--- Does everyone in NY send their laundry out to be done?
Not in the whole state. However on Manhattan Island, "downtown/central" NYC it is THE way to go.
IMHO & IIRC Manhattan, has the highest percentage of never- maried and never-to-be-married people, (breeders even) anywhere in the USA.
[except certain towns on Fire-Island (a seasonal barrier island) which has the highest gay population per square mile/meter IN THE WORLD.] Read: 100% less any stray store-keepers, business owners, etc.
Manhattan is the IDEAL 20 to 30-something year-old antidote- to-the-suburbs haven. MANY get sucked into the "me-first, screw you" mentality of the place.
In general, you do not cook or do laundry there, you have a professional cleaner come in to clean your "large" HA HA HA L-shaped studo [<200 sq, ft.]that has one to three people living in it to be able to afford the rent.
Wiping down a window-sill of the black oily soot that comes in from the air is a MORTAL sin. I mean you could be out partying, getting (oh heck, what do they call those Hawaiian things that go around your neck), drinking, dancing and hooking-up anonomously.
People of this nature are called TVCs- Typical(Greenwich) Village Clones. It is a lovely place for few years, but just how much self-indulgence is needed in life? No thanks.
We won't even touch deeply the HIV infection rate issue, which BTW is 40+%. So figure 50%. Go out on two dates and guess what your chances are of having met the "wrong" person? Statistically nearly 100%. It is just SO much safer to keep my right hand on my............ mouse.
TMI, huh? Like I always say, EVERYONE has the right to my opinion. LOL
