Especially if you're a Maytag fan. It's the patent for the Power Fin agitator! Someday someone is going to have to explain to me the intricacies of the patent expository style. Where do these guys learn how to write like that?????

It makes me wonder though, did some random person invent that then sell the idea to Maytag, or was it someone from Maytag who invented it. Oh and to answer your question Bajaespuma, back in those days, and even in the 80's when I was in elementary school, you were taught how to write in proper script, or cursive. Proper handwriting isn't taken serious anywhere near as it was years ago like it is now.

I know several men who's handwriting is often mistaken for a woman's, it's that beautiful.

I suspect Tom Smith engineered the Power Fin himself, and wasn't an idea that Maytag bought from a third party. Tom was the later day Snyder of Maytag - as he was integral in the design of the original Automatic machine/s (AMP, TL Neptune), as well as the Helical drive, glide motor system, and the Washer/Dryer Combination.

We owe a lot of gratitude to that man. I wonder if he is still with us - would make for a wonderful interview!
