Ohhh Bobby, Talk About a Sudslock!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

One reason never liked the "Brady Bunch" sitcom was those children's lives were nothing like mine, nor any of my friends growing up. Those children never got more than "go to your room" or "time outs" as punishments, for even the worst of things. Evenwhen Gregg was banned from driving the family car,he simply went out and drove another car, and got into trouble. Did Mr. Brady take off his strap? Oh no! Gregg was grounded or some such nonsense. *LOL*

Now had I caused such mess playing around with SWMBO washing machine, it was time to give my soul to God, because my rear was soon to be the property of someone else! *LOL*

Still, episode is kind of funny.

Prolly out with "Sam, the butcher".
*LOL*

Seriously think Mrs. Brady and Alice were out shopping or something.

Ever notice even though the Brady's considered Alice "family", they didn't stoop to modern standards by allowing their housekeeper to call her employers by their Christian names?

Was wearing the clean pants the next day

The pants turned out to be dryclean only.they were shrunk and somehow still fit Bobby in the last segment of the episode,Strange huhhh!! And yes Westy, The spray rinses would help but then remember that it was probibly just a little bit suds locked. It was a Whirlpool!

So true to the times, but not the parents

We had those avacado Whirlpool appliances I think they were Imperials or Supremes, and yes one car was a station wagon and the other was a Monster 1973 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible. Those doors would cut your legs off if you were not careful, not to mention don't even think about those tight parking spaces, the doors could not open wide enough to let you out.

That was great! Reminds me of a few years ago when I got a service call to a college. One of the students was playing a prank, and dumped an entire huge box of tide into one of the Maytags. Laundry room was flooded with suds. They called me out there because the washing machines are connected to the internet, along with a netcam in the washroom so that the students can monitor the washroom when they are doing laundry. When the suds overflowed the washer, they shorted out the little internet server I had installed in there to run it all, so I had to swim over to it like Bobby there and disconnect it. The funny part about the whole incident was that the netcam caught who did it! After installing a new one....instead of hanging it on the wall behind the washer, I ran all the cat5 data cables from the washers and stuck it above the drop-ceiling grid. There's no way the suds are getting to it now!

I loved watching the Brady Bunch shows. They could be pretty funny at times. Mostly a humorous way of looking at the typical situations that kids and a family could get into in that day and age.

It looks as if they were using some artistic license in the show too. I've never seen suds shoot out of a washer, or suds that had the power to kick the lid up. When this happens, I imagine most of the suds run down the inside of the washing machine, and run out where it meets the floor. In the case of the school, the perpetrator left the lid up, and then stuck a clothespin in the lid switch!
