OK GE Boys, Here's Something New

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

You know I was wondering the same thing about the pumps. My '69 model recirculates A LOT!!! Has a very powerful stream that splashes all over the place when it hits the pan. I love it! It also drains like a mo-fo. I had to tie down the hose to the sink because, when the machine would start draining, the hose would nearly jump off the sink with so much force! Any wonder why I like GEs so much??? So powerful!!!

1957 GE Filterflow Sudsaver

Robert,

For being so nice to another collector, do you want my yet unreconditioned two speed 1957 GE Filterflow sudsaver mentionded and photographed, that matches your GE dryer with the pink toggle buttons free of charge?

You'd have to have it shipped from Syracuse. I can't take on any more projects now, and would love to see it as a set completer for someone, realize it is a nice find, but it really needs it's mate.
I think we spoke of it in January and it does spin, agitate, but no water test yet.
A cool machine, GE's answer that year to the sheer look. Oh, it has the copper lint filter, really cool compliment to the pink, white and grey of the machine.

Anti-GE-metic?

Is Robert, possibly, and anti-GE-metic? Selling them off and not having them in his house?
Oh, sure, Frigidaire gets their own aisle in his home, ugly or not, but GE?
Of course,Maytags only when they are superstars, or Easy only when they are conversation centers, that is so typical of of GE-ophobe.
Washing machine prejucice has reared its ugly agitator head!
Well, we GE People have our own G-d, so suck it, Fridgidare!

Robert, while you are drunk

So, do we have any takers for the 1961 GE? Robert, while you are drunk, price me your 1958 GE's.

In the meanwhile, I am trying to get Phil drunk enough to sell me that 1957 washer. I now own that dryer that Robert used to own.

Does anyone know where you can get a rebuilt transmission for those V12's with the black ramped activator? I have one that is leaking blood.

re: transmisstions

NOS transmissions are still available for these machines from some of the parts houses and on ebay. I bought a brand new one for about $40 last year on ebay for another restoration.

Incidently, the lower oil seal (the one that usually leaks) on these machines is cheap, readily available, and relatively easy to change. I would consider this option if the rest of the tranny is in good shape.

Robert,
I can't believe it.
My mom had the '61 GE set.
I destinctly remember the rocker type switches and the blue dial.
She used the suds return all the time and I absolutely loved watching the water get sucked back into the washer.
There goes that sucking fetish again.
Must be a carry over from the vacuum fetish.
I better stop here before I create sexual tension ... seems I pretty good at that.
Thanks for posting
Pat

Drunk?!

I can think on many more things to make Robert do while he is drunk, than bargain shop for washers! <eg>

Sorry Robert, just couldn't help myself! :)

You do always find the greatest stuff.
