OK Hotpoint is going soon and this is what im planning to get

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Is up to you at the end of the day but I have to say

i wouldn't pay £899 for a washing machine. Period. There is no washing machine on this earth that would make me go to that expense particularly when you can pick up amazing and interesting bargains on Ebay. My current machine cost £50, was less than a year old and is still going after 5 years. THAT is VFM IMO!!!

Money well spent ?

I would go for Miele, the LG to me looks cheap and trashy, and seeing the amount i have seen at work with bearing failure i would not waste a penny on them, and as has already been said if you are going into debt to buy a machine then better to get a machine that will still be working when you have finished paying for it.

All this extra rinse stuff makes me laugh if modern machines used a realistic amount of water in the first place then these extra rinses would not be needed

im kinda moving for the zanussi ZWF16581G basically ANYTHING but hotpoint ariston or Indesit.

But currys nor comet sell this model and Appliances online sells this for £409 + 9.99 for recycling hotpoint.

Does appliance online do monthly payments or only pay full.

I...

...wonder, does your mum wash the clothes of those she cares for mixed in with the normal household washing? If she is fussy like my mother then I doubt it...never quite know...

...and if that is the case, and you can justify spending upwards of GBP800 on a machine...I would consider 2 things...

...get 2 machines...How about 2 Bosch...and you'll have a little change left to alter a utility room...

Or a Miele, get the Hotpoint fixed and still have a little left towards getting the utility room adjusted...

7KG LG machines seem to suffer a disproportionate number of bearing failures - ebay.com.au is full of them for sale...and you have to ask why given that 7KG is a good sized machine. Additionally, the large LG machines take forever to wash...7kg ones take 142 min on a standard cotton wash...

another neverending washer

Bosch Logixx WAS28769GB

"Capacity 8kg / 17.5lbs
Spin speed 1400-400
Consumption rates
60°C Cotton Ecos & wash plus
Time 205 mins
Energy 1.20 kWh
Water 66 litres"

3 hours 25 mins to get the A rating in cleaning ability while the Classixx (6Kg) take "just" 2hr 15 mins with the very same settings.
So is the "extra capacity" worth ?

Note that LG drum volume is 78 litres/cu. dm. . This mean actually 8 Kg, not 11 . The Logixx drum is 65 cu.dm. ---> 6.5 Kg
That's why LG and Logixx take forever.
Consider drum volumes rather than manufacturers claims

Ive just found out we've one more year of the cover, i got a fuse in and got a repairman for the shocks right now.

Im gonna wait til end of next year now. No point in rushing.

Don't forget the Bosch is being rated On Cottons ECO WITH wash plus selected. However cotton 40 with was plus takes 143 minutes & standard cottons without selection of wash plus is about 65minutes. I'm gettin the logixx within the next few weeks. I've almost saved enough.

I have to admit i do like that 11kg LG but we know its not genuine 11kg however the drum is bloody big & pretty!

Darren

I like Bosch logixx but if i was going to get one, i'd wait till the inverter motor model comes out so its quiet (in UK)

The LG 11kg has a 78litre drum which is exactly the same size as my dyson washing machines drum. :)

I e-mailed bosch yesterday to see if there would be a black logixx 8, they said they're wouldn't but the new range is out in april. However i'm impatient so im not sure if i'll wait until april. I cant decide! lol.

Logixx 8

Darren,

what is this to replace? Has one of the Zanussis (WDT or Essential) died?

Liam

Darren....

Im alright fella, what about you? Not seen you about for aaages! :(

Youre mad, that Zanussi Essential isn't even 2 years old is it?!! Where you gonna put the Bosch Loggixx?

Liam.

Why do you put your washing machine through such abuse?

I would be so angry if I was your parents and this is what you was doing with the machine when not looking.

As for LG, I wouldnt bother, poor quality and workmanship goes into their appliances be that white goods or tvs etc.

I have an LG telly that is faulty, air conditioning which isnt great quality as well.

I would at least go for a Miele or try get a 2nd hand machine!
