OK So What Should I Get Rid Of?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I'm sorry Mrs. Porter, I couldn't help myself!

The heating boiler. It just takes up too much room.

Surely your husband has some items in the basment that can be disposed of............family photos, school books, the wedding gown, a few sets of stilletto heels....

What are the chances of adding heat to the garage, followed by water, sewer, gas, etc? *LOL*

Your such a tease....

I don't think there is much you would get rid of....
You have worked so hard on your machines, and have worked miracles on most of them!
If you are getting rid of something, I would say you must have found something amazing!
Thanks for the recap of your collection!
AMAZING, AND ONE AND ONLY!
Brent

I think...

You should put your Westinghouse Laundromat set in your kitchen... where you have those shelves with all of your extra smalls (see below).
Wouldn't that just look stunning??

Then you can build shelves above the Laundromats--for all of your aforementioned small appliances.

I mean, how convenient would it be to have a washer and dryer in the kitchen..?

That way... you don't have to get rid of anything.
There's always room for one more (or in your case, one more pair)!

The Lady Kenmores would also look pretty fabulous there...

Or the '58 Unimatic set... although that may be too much turquoise ((Is that even possible?))

Robert this is such an easy problem to solve. Why of course you need to just sell those beautiful turquoise 58 Frigidaire's to me!! Problem solved!! All kidding aside I think Fred's idea is the best one. You have the perfect spot in the kitchen for the slant front Westinghouse set and it would look so neat there!!!

We all know how you really feel about Maytags - kick it to the curb! Sure it will be gone in no time. And that front loading Bendix Combo - geez, who ever would have thought front loading washing would ever be the wave of the future. GONE. ;-)

Problem solved!

Robert, you need to bring the '58 Frigidaire set to me, I won't even charge you for them! As for the modern room, you should just get rid of that on principle. More room for your other wonders!

Congratulations on whatever it is you found.
Dave

PS, HooverWheelAway, there is NEVER such a thing as too much turquoise :)

Well Robert, my ideas would be to either:

- Since you have a matched Philco Automagic set as well as one separate Automagic washer, then get rid of the stand alone washer. Oh and the Norge as well. Of course I would be only too happy to take care of those for you.
- More practical and likely is to clear some space in the kitchen for one of your matched sets. Having the washer and dryer in the kitchen was quite popular in the 50's and it would really round out the beautiful decor of that room.

Just my 2 cents...

LOL, thanks for all the great ideas you guys.

While I agree that getting rid of the modern room would be the best idea, I need those modern machines there for the times I'm away on trips so the other member of this household has something to wash in. If detergent is going to get spilled all over a washer, clothes left wet in the machine for days, stuffed to overflowing, etc, etc, I'd want that to be the Harmony thingyy.

Fred's idea is the best, but then again everyone in the household would have to agree and I'm not sure that that is gonna happen :).

So, what did ya buy?
I can't remember what the heck they were now, when I go back to the sale today to pick them up I'm sure I'll remember and I'll let you know.

Oh how cruel!

LOL.......Robert that was cruel.......at least give us a hint as to what this thing is that would make you consider giving up one of your prized machines!

I remember what they were Robert.,,,,,,,,,

And I am on my way to get them, you probably don't remember where they are either. Not to worry Dear, us Minnesotans take care of each other when the mind starts to go! And I mean this with love and respect!

I if I were you I send the turquoise GE my way. That would give you a good start on creating some space!

I see you have your FUNNYPANTS on today and I'm crying l

"If detergent is going to get spilled all over a washer, clothes left wet in the machine for days, stuffed to overflowing, etc, etc, I'd want that to be the Harmony thingyy. . " Laughed hard

"I can't remember what the heck they were now, when I go back to the sale today to pick them up I'm sure I'll remember and I'll let you know." Peed

The idea of you getting senile could get as funny as last year when you pretended to be closing Aworg.

Very first thought was to place new machines in kitchen, but I nixed it, thinking you had no room, but Fred the Architect has figured it out. Nice.

WARNING: Once you place a washing machine in the kitchen, there is no turning back.

OMG YOU ALL ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!!

I went back the sale to pick up the washer and dryer. Someone has stolen the timer knob right off of the washer!!!! It was there yesterday, I was turning it to feel the condition of the timer. Don said he remember seeing it on the washer too. We looked everywhere, and its gone!

I'm just sick about this whole thing. Oh well. More to come later.
