Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I got some appliance touch up paint today at the hardware store, and much to my suprise, found a cord that fits! I think they stock them regularly, because they had several of them and they also had a couple different styles of coffee pot cords. The cord is just a standard rubber cord, not cloth covered, but it will work fine. The cord was $9.29 and the touch up paint was $4.49.

it fits perfectly, I am taking the roaster to my Grandma's house tomorrow, and I am going to finish cleaning it up and touch up the paint saturday. I am going to keep it hidden there until Christmas, as my mom is starting to wonder whats rattling around in the trunk of my car! I will post a picture of it after I am done working on it.

I got a little more done today, I took it over to my grandma's house and washed the insert out, and put a first coat on the chipped paint spots. I also sandpapered the contacts where the cord plugs in, and tried it out with the new cord. the plug on the roaster end stayed perfectly cool, while the wall end prongs got somewhat warm. I think that may be because the house is really old and the wiring is not so great. But it is starting to come together nicely! I might be able to finish it up next saturday!

Dustin,

A little warmth at the outlet is ok. Our Norelco Dial-A-Brew does this too, and the coffemaker is over 35 years old. It happens because the appliance is drawing so much current.
