Nevermore...

I'm 65 and very glad I got to experience Sears at its pinnacle. Awesome washers/dryers,vacuum cleaners, hasook fans,12 hp Suburban garden tractors...all their stuff was at least decent and most a cool deal.

My family was blessed to have all these items (TWO '67 12 hp Suburbans my brother and I got to use for work and play at Valle Lake.)

The USA and Sears were much simpler, fun, affordable, stylish, and ''use at your own risk'' back then. Wow. Nevermore.

Thrifty Monday's

also. Sears fed, clothed, and housed seven of us for 33 years. Even our optical. Ouyr entire house was Coldspot, Kenmore, Sivertone. Furniture too. Toys at Christmas mostly, and small kitchen appliances. My dad worked for them, and he became very distraught when things began the downward spiral. Excellent profit sharing plan, etc. After retirement in 1995 and they cancelled his health plan, he never stepped foot in Sears again. I bought a vacuum there in 2002, and returned it. I didn't like it. It was a bagless canister made by Electrolux in Sweden. I liked the shape of it, but not the performance. It had a Eureka Express style Vibragroomer II power brush. That was fine. The sales lady called me and asked me why I returned it. I told her I found a bagged Eureka Oxygen canister vac. (aslo Sweden) with a better 2 stage motor for the same price. It still works great, and quieter than the bagless was.
