Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think these were one of the first Amanas to come out, which would mean these were approximately mid 80s models. They were manufactured by Raytheon Corp. who also manufactured Speed Queen. The lids on these open to the side, whereas the Speed Queens of this time period had back-opening lids. These machines had the perforated tubs like their Speed Queen counterparts, however I don't think they were stainless steel. The side opening lids remind me of the former solid tub Speed Queens. If only those were still with us.

Have a good one,
James

I loved the old Amana's, you can keep the new ones. But I shouldn't say that about the newer models only because they like to leak. All Amanas are cool. I have an old Amana fridge. It never fails me out in my shop. It was given to me by a guy who said it froze his foods in the fridge part so I found the solution to the dumbasses problem.....tuned up the thermostat .
