No, they're not what I'd call reasonably priced, but it's unusual to see a fairly complete set of GE steel kitchen cabinets from the early 50s.   I think there is a brochure for GE appliances in the Ephemera library that describes cabinets like these; the feature that got my attention was the "undercounter lighting and outlets" built-in to the cabinets.   The set for sale has this and honestly, I've never seen that before!

If I read the ad correctly, it sounds like the bottom cabinets are wood, so only the uppers and fridge surround are the GE steel. I would love to have those GE cabinets, especially since they have outlets and undercabinet lighting capability. Alas, price is too high, and that is no where near me as usual :( Jeannine

Yes, you're right Jeannine - I only noticed the upper cabinets were GE metal ones after posting... D'OH!!

there was a complete set...

of like new condition GE cabinets in pale yellow, with counters, sink, d/w and Americana range, all around vintage '62 or '63, for sale in the Adirondacks a couple years ago, out of a summer home, for cheap, I think $500? They wouldn't take PayPal or any payment except in person and we couldn't get there right away at the time... grrrrr. :-(
