Westinghouse Dishwasher

My Aunt had a Westinghouse dishwasher in Avocado back in the 70's.  I seem to recall that it had a push/pull timer knob.  Set the cycle and push the knob to start.  My memory is a little fuzzy, though so I could be wrong.  I do remember that it had a loud drain solenoid that would pull in with a SNAP.  It reminded me of a Speed Queen solid tub machine switching cycles.

If it is a WCI machine I'll steer clear of it, and yes $250 does seem a bit steep.  I had thought about letting my sister know about this one because her 4 year old GE has gone through 2 boards since it was installed, and she's pissed off.

That's a real Westinghouse, but by this time, as Tom noted, they had given it:

- a crappy shaded-pole horizontal-mount motor that ran all during the dry to "fan-dry" the dishes,

- racks with "glides" (rub-strips, but no wheels),

- a simplified tower that interlocked with the lower wash-arm,

- no particular filtration to speak of.
