Litton model 460, mfg January 1978
This one works fine and has critical parts that can be used to fix the other one
Litton model 1570, mfg October 1979 Not fixed: blows fuses.
Has very complete programmable cooking options.
Problem believed to be power supply only, and likely an easy fix.
Litton invented the microwave oven and solved the hot-spot problem without a turntable.
Litton patent prevented competitors from the hidden "stirrer" that breaks up "standing waves" which are the cause of hotspots. Thus the crummy models that have hotspots use the turntable as a solution technically ignorant customers can believe, but it's not as good and certainly not better than eliminating the hot spots as the Litton patented approach does!
Both of these have the feature to remove hotspots so have a simple interior bottom surface and more usable cooking space.
(if your microwave has a turntable, it is an inferior design that has hotspots.)
Both of these also accept the thermometer option so they can cook to temperature instead of just time. Do not have the temperature probes, but these can often be found in thrift stores or bought online.
Model 460 works fine. Uses the same tube and supply as the one with fancier controls that needs TLC.
