Help Support :

Thanks Guys.

Hey Gadget...

Forgot the Tub Light thing. Went to HOMO Depot and they had None. Went to NAPA and had nothing. (We're talking Cape Cod Here) But Yes it has one. Anyone can tell me where I can get one ??? And Yes, The Tub Light Lens is there. YIKES !!!!

Eddie, I"m sorry, I got you confused with Peter--the Unimatic confused me lol. This is an incredible find. the undercarriage is so clean you could eat off it.

Aferim!

Lovely set of 806's with the good bleach dispenser yet! You will get much satisfaction out of these, they are really classic machines.

The light's available at any hardware store. Do you need to know what kind of bulb to use?

And...

Coldspot66 did a great favor for me today.

This wonderful crazy old woman that saw one of my Letters to the Editor a few months ago, when I was on a rant and mentioned that I collect old vintage machines, remembered the letter and contacted me about a old DM Kenmore she has.
I went over and told her "I'm not a repair guy but I'll have a look." Well, I looked. Seemed to me it was from the 70's and it was only a belt.

John came out today and through many under his breaths said "What the f--k an I doing here" ?

But he got the job done and the Whack Job Lady was thrilled.

What a hoot. 1972 DM was saved by John. New Belt, Ran Great, and it will be here after she's gone.

God , I love this place.

BTW...

After John came down here today to service the Whack Job Lady, He came back to the house to see my "Museum". I hooked up the Unimatic. Ran a Load through, They chatted for awhile, and Everything is cool.

Now I think I'm going to do my Maiden Wash in the 806 and try a Video. I'll have to try to remember how to do that. LOL

Thanks Guys for the Reviews.

Eddie,

Please tell us why the previous owners got rid of such beautiful machines. Were they downsizing their household, or just wanted something newer?

SCOOOOOOOORRREEEE!!!

I love it when previous owners take exceptional care of their stuff!

As for the tub light, I get my bulbs from Ace Hardware. Same bulb is used for timer dial lights on pre '66 TOL machines too, so I stack up on 'em. You never know when they'll disappear in this unstable world.

Thanks Dan for the Info

I went to Homo Depot,,, not available... Went to NAPA... they couldn't figure it out (Cape Cod ya know)

As far as the "Guy" told me about selling the set... Ya Ready...

His wife wanted a FL set that was "More Dependable" and saved water then "These Old Beasts", What a Joke... and the "guy" that sold these to me said " She'll miss these" and said "Yup. Your right when the laundry comes out stinky and grey"

I'm Happy as a Clam.

Vid tomorrow as my Camera ran out of fuel.

Once again... "Love you guys' (and Gals)

Corngratulations! (in honor of the harvest festival)
I have the same pair in white. The dryer is great for sheets because the drum is too small to allow them to ball up. It is slower than a WP or vintage GE, though. Hope you have lots of fun with your dream machines.

OMFG Eddie!

That is the dream pair for me and so many others.

Congratulations!

You'll never want to use any other dryer again. That HOH Electronic control will spoil you.

Ralph

Yesterday (11/26), I washed my tablecloth from Thanksgiving and dried it in my HOH DE606. It come out so wrinkle-free that all I had to do was fold and put it back in the linen drawer. It was dried with 2 flat bed sheets, in about 40 minutes, can't beat that for speed.

Eddie, enjoy your "new" babies! Looks like Christmas came early for you this year. LOL

WOW EDDIE!

CONGRATULATIONS on finding such an awesome set! Yes you can tell they were very well taken care of... they're in amazing condition! YAY!!!!

Can you post the letter code from the serial numbers so we can tell when they were built, please??

AWESOME FIND!!!
CONGRATS AGAIN!!!

Kevin

Hi Kevin

Yes they are Beauties.

I'm running out of things to Wash !!! LOL

The Washer : HA 806 Ser. 769638SY
The HOH Dryer :HDE 806 Ser. 405342 SU

I'm locating a New Belt Set today. The machine this morning was a tad bit sluggish. They are in the Laundry Room which is located right next to the Boiler so Avg. Temp...70 degrees. So I know it's not cool tranny oil. I felt the belts this morning and they feel loose, so may as well change them Right ? And IIRC, they are self tensioning. Never had to do this before.

BTW... I think I'm going to be in San Diego for around 2 days before we leave. I'll call you when things are etched in stone.

Wait 'till you see what I'm bringing back from New Jersey next week !!!

the Maytags are nice, but...

...Eddie, in that first photo, is that where you live? That is so nice...like a forest at your door. It must look beautiful in the Spring & Summer.

OK! more people finding 806's ain't helping me here. The next person that I see on here getting a 806 will mean the execution of the Bosch Nexxt WFMC3200UC that sits out back. Don't make me do it...

HARVEST 806 PAIR

Great condition pair Eddie congratulations its always great to get machines that were well cared for. Possible reasons for slow to get going agitation are 1 worn or glazed main drive belt. 2 sticking motor carriage assembly, plastic rollers broken or dry. 3 slightly tight transmission, the agitator shaft bearings often start to get tight in older MTs from lack of lubrication or because of small amounts of water seeping into the bearing area. This is the number one reason that our customers finally give up on 1970s MT washers as this can be a big repair job. If you think this is happing to your machine you can lay the washer on its back with the front panel off and position the transmission so the steel counter balance weight is down. Leaving the washer in this position for several days or more will let some oil get the agitator shaft bearing and may give it a new lease on life. When its tipped on its side turning the main drive pulley by hand will help the oil work in to the bearing. You can also tell if this is even needed by how easily the main drive pulley turns by hand but its a little hard to describe just how easily it should turn, but you should be able to turn the pulley with one finger. Good luck with these in any case they are definitely worth fixing and using.
