Next step will be to remove the washbasket (when the weather warms up a bit so I have a little more insurance that the fill and filter-flo flumes don't break off from the removal. We already snapped off one of the bolts holding the spin basket to the tranny. Oy.

 

And then on to the cabinet and a trial run. This will be interesting.

Good point about the fill and filter-flo return nozzles - I very stupidly tore open the top of the '63 GE V-12 when I first got it and managed to rip the filter-flo hose... BUT, I was able to re-attach it with a high-heat epoxy (Perma-Poxy) and it's been doing fine. I hope you won't need to use this method, though!!

That's quite a transformation!  The textured surface bears a remarkable resemblance to that of the CD Maytags.
