Down the road there lives a man I'd like you all to know
He grew a great big marrow for the local flower show
And when the story got around, they came from far and wide
And when the people saw the marrow, everybody cried

(Ooooh! What a beauty!), I've never seen one as big as that before
(Ooooh! What a beauty!), It must be two feet long or even more
It's such a lovely colour, and nice and round and fat
I never thought a marrow could grow as big as that
(Ooooh! What a beauty!), I've never seen one as big as that before

(Oh-Oh-Ooooh! What a beauty!, we've never seen one as big as that before)

He was leaning on the garden gate the other day
And beckoned to a lady who lives just across the way
He took her down the garden path and showed it her with pride
And when she saw the size of it, the little lady sighed

(Ooooh! What a beauty!), She'd never seen one as big as that before
(Ooooh! What a beauty!), It must be two feet long or even more
It's such a lovely colour, and nice and round and fat
I never thought a marrow could grow as big as that
(Ooooh! What a beauty!), I've never seen one as big as that before

(It's stupendous!)
(It's colossul!)
(It's gigantic!)
(It's bigger than that!)

And then the flower show was held and everybody went
To see the great big marrow, lying there inside the tent
Soon the judges came along to give the prizes out
They only took one look at it and then began to shout

(Ooooh! What a beauty!, we've never seen one as big as that before)
(Ooooh! What a beauty!, it must be two feet long or even more)
It's such a lovely colour, and nice and round and fat
I never thought a marrow could grow as big as that
(Ooooh! What a beauty!, we've never seen one as big as that before

Oooo-oooo-oooh! I've never seen one as big as that before

Congratulations!

Peter is it in like new shape! It does not look used!
How how in the world did you get that moved?!
I had the "normal short" version of this dryer for a few years during the late 1980's. It was a very good dryer!
Are you going to install this at your home?

Nice looking dryer, congratulations. Can someone please comment on the overall performance of these dryers and how they would compare to a WP/KM machine of the same era? Thank you.

Frigidaires were good dryers. The main thing I don't like about them, as I have grown older is that the drum opening is lower than on a GE so the door opens closer to the floor and interferes with the clothes basket. This does not apply to the Filtrators of the clothes broiler design.

Pardon my ignorance

But I have never seen anything like this. Is this the Flair for the laundry room? Is that tall backsplash a hang-drying cabinet?

Not ignorant at all Brian

This was a very short-lived TOL design for Frigidaire in the late 1960s.  The high-style contained storage cabinets for laundry supplies and such--just think of it as the precursor for day's pedestals.  I think there was probably also a range with this style.  I did see these in person in avocado in the GM Pavilion of the Texas State Fair in like fall of 1967 or 1968.  The companion washer had the variable speed knobs for both pulsating and spin and were total mechanical nightmares failure prone.  But I was just beside myself when I figured out I could have dialed any speed wash or spin I wanted.  As an adult, I now think they should have included variable water temperature settings also.

I'm dreaming about these! So far, I only have the dishwasher from that ad! The rest wasn't available in Canada but if anything like that surfaces not too far from the border, I'll try to grab them.

Tom, about the doors, I can tell you that the lower part of the door on my 1957 "Clothes Broiler" is 2" lower than it is on the 1961-70 Frigidaire dryers.

13½" for the 1961-70 dryers, 11½" for the 1957.
