I noticed that the washer lid opens to the right; at first I thought the picture was "flipped" until I saw the "Lady Kenmore" script on the dryer!! Didn't know they had reversing lids...
What's the big deal about that? My 1979 KM's lid does too because the washer sits on the right. Okay, so I drilled a couple a holes, repositioned the lid and bypassed the switch! lol!
I thought all Kenmore filters were on the right side of the tub, too. But I don't think the photo is reversed, because the snubber is on the back right side of the tub where it should be. Nor is the K on the agitator cap backwards. Also, the lid opens to the right, which is the opposite of most Kenmores.
I guess the 1958s also opened from left to right. John LeFevre has the 1959 push-button with rapid advance timer and it too oepns left to right. Have also seen a Model 70 with the same opening style.
I guess it would make sense to put the filter on the left side if the lid opens to the right; otherwise you'd be a little cramped with the lid hinge in your way when trying to clean the filter.
Damn, these are beautiful. Hope someone gives them a good home.
