"Child, you cut me to the quick!"

Everytime I watch that movie, I hear brilliant lines, like the one above, that would be precisely added to sparkling conversation long ago, in the same way an artist placed individual gems when creating a piece of jewelry.

Last night I thought of how much the scene, where the witch sends out her squadrons of flying monkeys, resembled scenes from WWII movies where the skies were filled with planes on bombing missions.

But they never explained what those shoes could do or were used for. The only advice Dorothy ever got was "to stay inside of them or else you'll be at the mercy of the wicked witch of the west. They must be very powerful otherwise she wouldn't want them so badly.

Quite some time ago I read a very large book about the making of this movie. It was an amazing read! Are any of the principle actors still around?

Wicked

I read "Wicked" several years ago and loved it. I was really hoping they'd make a movie out of THAT story, the whole thing being so cracked--it was great!

Well, sadly, it did get adapted, but in the WORST possible way--a f*cking obnoxious (the only kind) Broadway musical! BLEEEECHHHHH! They wrecked it!
