One awesome Twin Tub

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Awesome they are!

I have owned 2 of these machines. here in S.A they were badged National and had blue pulsators but without the cone. very good machines and if you take a look at my PHOTOS!! thread you will see another species of this machine that had standard control knobs also just as good. I hate feelings of regret...

Really cool TT

Wow that is one really cool twin tub interestinng that it has a semi standard agitator rather than the standard pulsator like my Haier.
Arrrooohhh, what do you think the chances that Panasonic might start bringing washers and fridges into Australia?,if for no other reason it would give Aussie consumers another brand to look at.
Cheers.
Steve.

Mike, I do not think that this would be like a Servis twin for the washing action, probably more like Fisher and Paykel.

Steve, I doubt that Panasonic will start selling whitegoods in Australia again, there is too much competition for a small market, with long established players competing against those awful cheap machines that seem to be popping up everywhere. Even Hitachi couldn't keep up and has withdrawn from the market. I personally would like to see a Sharp washing machine.

What I like about this twin tub is how similar it is to the Automatic model at the time - now that one was sold in Australia and heavily advertised at the time too. I remember thinking it was so space age...

Sharp washing machine

Yes Arrrooohhh,
Sharp make a nice range of refrigerators too and a Sharp washing washing machine would make a welcome addition.
Have you seen the new Sharp 4 door fridge-freezer?,really nice looking unit.
I actually took the liberty of emailing Panasonic and asked them about whitegoods, I will post their answer if I get one.
Cheers.
Steve.

great twinny

These machines were great. I also had one of them, but it was labled Frigidaire.loved its overflow rinse, but the spinner had a sprayrinse function as well. The wash action was very powerfull. They were strong and lasted for years. These machines are mid 80's models.

The National twin tub was a best seller here in S.A for many years due to it being the only twin tub featuring a big pulsator. At the time we only new of the small "disk" pulsator. this new (it was an ordinary flat pulsator just bigger therefore appeared better SOLD!) when the electronic touch panel replace regular turn knobs no machine stood a chance... it was a huge hit! what would eventually go wrong on 90% of these machines thus making them obsolete is rust! the spinner shaft would punch through the base of the spinner and that was that! you are more likely to find a hoovermatic here than a national anyday.
