Hey guys, there's another odd thing going on with our Affinity washer. In the dispenser drawer, the bleach containment section is always full of water. Is this intentional so the bleach is somewhat diluted upon entering the tub? There's barely enough room for any bleach to be added, and when the drawer is fully extended to add detergent, water sloshes out of the bleach section and spills onto the floor below.

Is this normal, or am I supposed to extract the drawer and dump the water out whenever I want to add bleach? The factory warranty period will be over in a couple of months so I may have to start a list.

Thanks,

Ralph

This is "normal".

Unfortunately it's impossible to make a syphon system that works under all different water pressures.

I have the same issue with my affinity when coincidently two other machines fill at the same time.

It's not a malfunction or something that needs to be serviced.

The same can happen with the softener dispenser. specially if you use a thick softener.

an easy way to empty the dispensers without removing the drawer is pouring some water (I use a liquid detergent ball) and wait until the dispenser drains (less than 10 seconds) before pouring the bleach or the softener.

I have that happen sometimes in the dispenser drawer. I use so little softener that if the water is at or below the half-fill mark, I just add softener to the water.

If there is too much water, I open the drawer and then close it quickly. Back and forth a couple times and the water splashes out and drains into the tub, and then I can add softener.

My Frigidaire Gallery front loader does that on occasion. I just take the drawer completely out, and dump the water into the floor drain. Sometimes there will be just a little water and sometimes it's full of water. I too thought something was wrong with the washer.

I'm glad I'm not alone!

I don't use bleach that often so this isn't a big deal. The water that spills will annoy me more often that the fact that it's occupying the bleach dispenser.

Neptune 7500 often ends up with the bleach compartment full of water.

Since I never use liquid bleach it's not a problem.

Occasionally though I get tired of looking at it and dump the water down the hatch.

I may have a resolve.......

I had this problem with my neptunes....machines were completely level....the service tech came in and raised(screwed in) the legs as far as possible, and then releveled...and then raised the front up about 1/2 inch more...and this corrected the water left in the dispenser except for a little left in the well....I did this to my gallery washer and fixed that one too.....just a thought, give it a try, may work for you too, who knew?

You saved me a post on asking how to fix.

I remember this is what was done on old GE Filter-flos to keep water out of the bleach dispenser during spin-drains!

I'm trying it too on my Frigidaire Gallery front-loader (that has a backsplash).

It's the bleach dispenser that remains full of water. Since this is dumped into the first rinse I use (cheap, watery)softener in it [when I am not using bleach] to cut sudsing. The load then gets three more rinses to wash out all chemicals.
