Ican't wait till tomorrow is over. I have had at least 10 people at my door today. They are offering rides to the polls, and anything that they can do to help me vote. The phone has non stop ringing all day with political calls. Enough. Thank God this is almost over.

I think this is how almost everyone feels.

The bad news is that if my memory of what happened in 2004 is right, and history repeats itself, we'll have someone announcing his or her intention to run for President by the end of the week.

Neither our phone or doorbell is ringing. I did get another call from robot Daisy this morning, who wanted to tell me about a carpet cleaning special. She apparently doesn't give a rat's ass that we're on the do not call list, and when I pressed 8 to tell her we didn't want to receive any more calls from her she hung up on me. The nerve!

Meanwhile, I am sick of the pro & con ads for the dozen or so propositions on our ballot this time around. They are polluting the airwaves, particularly during news programming.

Other than the various media that are making money on all of this advertising, I don't think there's anybody out there who isn't anxious to have all of this be over. Tomorrow at 8PM can't come soon enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed the election season. It's like watching sports!

I dread these elections every four years. I wish we'd amend our constitution to limit all federal offices (except the Supreme Court) to one term: one four or six year term for the president/VP and House members, one 8 or 12 year term for Senators.

There would be far fewer career politicians in Washington D.C., and our representatives would actually do their jobs, instead of focusing on re-election from their first moment in office.

As for Bush, as predicted he's throwing some truly evil darts on his way out: doing whatever he can to further gut our environment and eliminate consumer protections. What a blotch on America's record this man has been.

Oh no, Jed, I've been enjoying John Stewart, Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow through this and it's been a close and exciting race. I do burn out on too many political shows in one sitting though. It's the commercials that are killing me.

Being in a non-battle ground state, I haven't even been called for a single poll. 4 years ago I got 5 or 6 calls. And campaigner's are scarce too. I got to see Hillary on my birthday back in Sept. but that's it.

As to JeffG's suggestion about term limits, having lived though the mess they cause I say no way! Here in MI we have term limits and we also have a budget crisis. Last year it was a total disaster since everyone was relatively new and had little idea how to manage a crisis. They are also VERY partisan and refused to work across the isle in fears of aggravating their base. Being limited the people in the House are angling for the Senate and the Senate is looking for something else. At this point I'd take some good old boys who know how to work a deal over wet behind the ears kiddie opportunists.

Matt, logically I don't follow you. Politicians who seek re-election are the ones who have to worry about aggravating their base, and worry about the political consequences of balancing a budget.
