Pink Frigidaire Wall Oven - 50's (Hudson, NY)

******************************************************************************

I have a 50's ?? pink Frigidaire oven still in the original shipping crate. My grandfather purchased this new in I guess the 1950's when he was building his house but didn't use it. Grandma decided not to go pink I guess. This has been in climate controlled garage ever since. Make a fair market offer. Never been out of the box or used.

1960's Era GE Electric Stove Going to the scrapper in a

Hate to think this may have gotten scrapped. Maybe he still has it.
**************************************************************************
Hello,

It's in great condition for being an antique. All the burners work to some degree. The oven and warmer work well though the setting for temperature on the dial is not in sync with the temp in the stove(off about 25 degrees). Side outlets do work. Plenty of storage space in the lower drawers. It could use a good going through.

Overall it looks extremely nice and would be a great addition to any kitchen, or could be use as yard art or converted into a very cool potting table or used as a retro cabinet, planter, table, or ?.

There are endless options with this beauty.

It comes with a Rangaire Vent hood that is in working condition.

It is approximately 40" wide, 25 1/2" deep (31 including handles) and 50" tall.

$60 cash only in person, no checks/payments and I will not ship. It is very heavy. Will help load and delivery is possible.

This will be going to the metal scrapper in a week or so. $60 is my bottom price ( I can get that much for it scrapped:)

Thanks for looking, Doug

1960s Electric Stove - $450 (Walworth)

Westinghouse Imperial 40 model CK stove for sale.

Avacado green electric stove and oven. We used it last year and it works great! I haven't used the oven, but have no reason to believe it's not functional too. Decent shape for the age, I don't think it was used very much since it was in a second basement kitchen when we moved in. The chrome on the handles is showing some age, but overall its in good to very good condition. Pull out drawer for pots and pan storage. Have the original owners manual with it as well.

Whoa!  That Thor automagic could be a deal IF it comes with the dishwasher tub...

That poor GE wall fridge - it may be a '55 but the bottom of it seems to be rusted right through!!

Represents my early days of cooking when I walked away from the stove to talk to my neighbor and things went "overboard", occasionally.

Guests: "The meal was good"

Chef: "The stove ate the best part".

That's a 806 pair, the washer isn't a Suds Saver model. They look just like those I have (but I can't tell if they have the clear knobs like mine of the earlier ones). The washer does have the 4 fill levels and the permanent press cycle.

I e-mailed the seller of the Thor asking if by any chance the dishwasher attachment is either in or around the machine. She's checking and will get back to me.

Keep your fingers crossed. Someday I'll find that damn dishwasher attachment!

From Everything One Has Read

Housewives of the period gave a collective "ewwwwwwwwwww" to washing dishes and laundry in the same machine. Even with the bother of switching tubs and so forth the concept just didn't seem to fly. Most households thus either used the machine for one or the other purpose.

My 1950's issues of CR's buying guides gave the washer middling marks overall for laundry, but rated the Thor highly in terms of extraction (IIRC).

Much like another Thor appliance from same era (the Gladiron), Hurley Machine Company was trying to reach space/housing challenged 1940's and 1950's households with a device that would (in theory) do two of the most hated tasks and took up little space. Again no matter how much salespersons and Thor tried housewives just weren't buying....

When you think of how many washing machines back then were doing heavy diaper duty one can really understand the reluctance. Even *knowing* there were two different tubs and whatever just couldn't bring myself to use the same machine for soiled diapers *and* dishes.

Well I had a link to a great stationary bike powered washing machine, an old Maytag open top wringer, but the link just went Facebook.. Anyway check out YouTube for some interesting ideas.. I'd use one..
