Oreck Compact Canister Vacuum

I was using my little Oreck Canister the other day and it just stopped working. At first, I thought that it may have overheated, but I let it cool down and it still didn't work. Could it be the switch? If so, where would I purchase one? Will any switch the same size work? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

if it just stopped. If you check on line there are Oreck
Stores scattered about the country. They most likely would be able to get any available parts it they don't already have them in stock.It will be pricey though. I have the vacuum you describe that I purchased used from a Salvation Army Thrift
Store for 2 bucks. I went to an Oreck store and bought one
"wand", a crevice tool, an upholstery nozzle and two packages
of bags and it cost $36 and some change

You might be better off buying a commercial Hoover "Portapower" Cleaner. it is very similar to the Oreck but with a better motor. uses cloth bag. look for it on ebay.
