Oster Kitchen Centre disassembly question

I need to do some tinkering with one of my Oster Kitchen Centres and I was trying to remove the motor.  I am stuck with the drive wheel that the mixer unit meshes with, though - I am not sure how exactly to remove it.  I thought it might unscrew, but I have not been able to do so.  Is there a trick to doing this?  

 

It's one of those screamin' 1200 watt motors; I don't have a model number but there is a service number 966-64F stamped on the bottom of it, if that may help.   

 

I don't use these beasties much, but I still think they're cool.... LOL

Ive got a bunch of them

But have never taken one apart..I do know the weakness is the plastic gears in the mixer arm, but I never knead bread with one so otherwise they are great, I have every attachment they made, Great little ice cream freezer!

yeah, never had to take one apart......looking for clues in this thread, just in case I ever have to....

trying to name all attachments that fit:
meat grinder-attaches to mixer head
juicer
ice cream maker
coffee grinder-two types
ice crusher
salad maker-slicer/chopper-should be 5 blades altogether
blender
dough maker-just a certain type of beaters
food grinder/chopper

seems I may be missing something else.....most will also fit a base of an Oster Blender too...

I have several which I like a lot.....probably the only down side, when using the mixer, you can't raise the head to spin-off the beaters before shutting it down

I've never taken one apart even though I have a few of them,nor have I really used them either. I had and regretfully sold the only plasti Chrome one I've ever run across,should have kept it but I got some good bucks for it at the time. They seem sort of flimsy , particularly the mixer head, you wouldn't
Want to do any heavy mixing in one I would guess.

I've inherited one of these machines and it sounds like there is a gear slipping. I am also stuck on how to remove the drive wheel so I can pull out the motor to take a look.

Has anyone figured out how to remove the wheel?

Hi Vincent - I still haven't figured it out either...  The machine in question went back into the projects box and I probably won't get to it again until this summer (AFTER the '57 GE washer and dryer get revived...).  If I do find anything, though, I'll post it here.
