Keep them forever!

Whatever you do keep these machines going. No DD Whirlpool/Kenmores are being made now. I've heard from several sources that the new PSC belt drive is not near as good. Besides great durability and wash performance the styling of these machines is timeless. These come from a great series of machines and are pretty near TOL(only the Whirlpool Imperial, Lady Kenmore, Kenmore LTD. and KitchenAid Superba had more options that I know of) in WP's lineup. This pic shows WP's top machine in 1986 the all Electronic Kenmore LTD. These were produced up through the late 90's

Indeed, I know that very well, that was one of Whirlpool's biggest mistakes. In fact, about a month ago, I had the chance to see one of those new belt drives at one of the houses in the neighborhood, and "oh dear" is all I can say.....

In fact I soon plan to may another youtube video comparing the DD to the BD (newer), not really a machine operation video, more like another one of my opinion videos.

Indeed I remember those electronic Kenmores in your vids, and you know I am more of a mechanical control guy, but the panel light yours has is a huge plus and it was still very impressive and good to see!

Did you ever happen to get the transmission worked on yet?

WP DD's & Youtube movies

John, those thin twins are so much fun and versatile. The place where I stay in Pompano has them, so sturdy, many sets almost 10 years old and issue free.

How cool, Dave: first movie you've seen and first one I ever made. Wish I knew hoe to chop it up so I could put the Easy Spin section in Dick's or Pete's thread. What's your Youtube name so I can watch your WP movies?

I do believe you can see that in a youtube video if you search for it, I cannot remember the exact name for it, but it will show you some stuff.

pardon the double post but I cant edit posts since I am a standard member.

oh those are your vids? cool to know! :D

Here is my youtube :)

Nice videos Dave........but one question on the ejection pump......is your drain hose piped directly into it?........

I have a sewage ejector underground for the bathroom in the basement, of which the washers drain into that, but I MUST have a laundry tub and a filter screen on the drain hoses, as per the instructions, not so much about the lint, but any strings that may wrap around and jam the the impeller......

just worried for you, should you not be home, and this jams.....you would have a serious flood.....

We did think about that. From what I saw on the box, it does NOT require screens. I myself did think exactly about what you had just said, but yeah, it hasnt had any problems.

Oh also, the only time I could hear the standpipe "filling" is when I accidentally put too much detergent in for a medium load (too sudsy), but it still never overflowed and any other times it works perfect.

But anyway, since that is a machine from 2010, I'll post some pics in the Deluxe board later this month. :)

I noticed your 1990 Whirlpool dryer has the moisture sensor but no light in the drum. Looks to be an intresting model. Thats a great pair! I have a set of Whirlpools I bought back in 1999 and I hope to keep them another 12 years!

Good luck with them!

It was probably before they started putting lights in the drum, not quite sure what year that started. But, yep, I actually did do some checking around any many parts are still available, should they require replacement, so, things should be okay for a while!

The turquoise agi helps me to get over the lack of my old A806, and the set is delightful and quiet and does a spectacular job. I only feel a little bit bat about the oven door not being in a place where it can be enjoyed, but I have plans... this set will move with me to my next home and I hope to be able to give them a spot where they can be seen.

Now, to find the washer a Superba control panel...
