Hawaiian Winter

Of course, if you visit from the mainland, there is no winter here. When you are here all the time there is a definite change of seasons. The tempurature drops 5-10 degrees and it rains a lot. Here in Kahului we see no rain from may til oct, but in the winter it can rain for a few days in a row. Thats where line drying becomes aggravating.

various things

Wow, a teen-agers room that isn't a MESS?! Amazing and impressive.

I bought one of those GE 4885 clock-radios new and it's still in daily use. Yes, the ability to hook up an outside antenna is a definate plus, surprised it had the ability at that late date. The thing the sold me was the ability to directly enter the time and radio frequency. They had a problem in that the buttons would stop working and mine was fixed under warranty. Only problem is, somehow they screwed up the electric eye that dims the display when the room is dark so that the display goes almost COMPLETLEY off and I have to turn on a light so I can see the time. They had lower models, too i.e. 4880. The radio before that was a Columbia Masterworks with the drop-leaf clock I bought in 1971. It was retired when the leaves began to screw-up, though I still have it and it works otherwise.

I guess I'll do the pictures of all the appliances thing, too, at least the large appliances & the vintage small appliances like the Mixmaster & the 1960 Kenmore perocolator inherited from Granny

We have the same fridge (80s Whirlpool). Only problem is the light doesn't work. But it's still goin.

LOVE the tv! I wish I had one like that so I can hook up my Atari plug'n'play game stick. It's an Atari joystick with the games built in. I also have one with PacMan which is just like the arcade game.

Love the Hunter fan. I love the "UFO" look to it.

My sisters had one similar to the 7-4885, also with dual alarm and the numeric keypad, but I believe it did have a 'touch' snooze bar. One of them might still have it, I haven't 'scoped-out the situation.

7-4885

Any 4885 had the Snooze bar. Use mine everyday, about 3 times before I finally crawl out of bed. I know the two alarms were meant for 2 people, but I use mine for weekday/weekend purposes or when I have to get up at an abnormal time so I don't have to disturb the setting on the regular alrm.
