I have a Maytag A206 and I was wondering if this model had an Out of Balance Switch that shuts the motor off if the basket goes wild, or some other feature? (if any... cause, after all, it's a low end Maytag.)

Thanks Tom...

That's actually how I remember it working, but I've had a few serious out of balance situations where the machine just would not shut itself down. Are they prone to sticking because of lack of use?

What can happen is that the actuator on the tub cover can get BEHIND the OOB switch which makes it do weird clunka-clunka things while spinning with the dial going in and out, but not shutting off. If the machine is moved without care and leaning too far back, that can happen. It can also happen if the machine is allowed to go off balance with a very heavy load.
