Out with the AEG, in with the Siemens

I was at my repairguy's shop last week, minding my own business when I noticed they had a Siemens in the shop from a series I always liked. I couldn't help myself and before I knew I left the shop with an appointment to get it delivered. As you know I don't have much space left, so another washer had to go, so I decided to get rid of the AEG 6450. It had a small problem that could have been fixed easily, but I played with it for 10 years and before that had a 625 for quite a few years, which is a similar machine. So the AEG went and the Siemens came in.

It's a Siemens Siwamat 6120 from February 2001.

I always loved the control panels of these series. This is my first frontloader with a display, albeit a small one.

It has been nice to play around with this machine. First one with spins between rinses in the permanent press cycle etc.

Now to find a matching dryer...

Nice Siemens washer there! I see it has the classic Siemens fault of yellowing on the control pannel. My Extraklasse 660 dryer has done the same thing. Shame really because it's fantastic machine!

I see the pictures have gone, not only in this thread but in other threads as well. Mailed the webmaster about it. Or can others see them?

Anyway, the detergent drawer is a bit yellow, but it shows a bit more in the pictures. I've been searching on te internet for a matching dryer, I noticed indeed some dryers have the same problem.

I had a Bosch WFF2000 which saw me through the birth of my first son. They are a great range. Fun to watch the cascade as the drum slows down from spin!

Darren, glad you like the Siemens, I was bored with the AEG, this is quite something different. Yes, it's big fun to see the cascade after a spin. What happened to your Bosch?

It remained in my garage I shared with my ex, I had to leave my machines as I had no where to put them :-(
