In with the not much newer. We bought this GE washer new in Jan. 2004. I know these are not highly respected but this one has faithfully cleaned our laundry for all these years with never a single repair. When the bearings started to scream during spin, I knew it’s days were limited. Thought about repairing it but that bearing is quite expensive and seems pretty labor intensive. I’ve had this Speed Queen sitting out in my workshop for a number of years and really wanted to put it into service. Found the Speed Queen at one of the electronic/appliance rental places all covered in mud and with a dent in one side. Brought it home, cleaned it up, put a new belt on. Continued to have slow or no spin issues in my trial runs, got a new idler kit, installed that, and here we go! Loving this washer so far. Now if I could find the matching dryer!
