Oxydol detergent

Hey folks,

I've seen a few threads here discussing the merits of the current Oxydol detergent and where to get it. Today I saw it in two stores, Dollar General and Dollar Tree.

Dollar Tree had $1 32oz bottles (10 loads) in regular or Bingo Bango Mango scent (what a knock off!).

Dollar General had several varieties - powder in a 30-some load box, and both liquids. They were about $3 or $4 each.

FYI if you're still looking for Oxydol!

Oxydol is the only detergent my grandmother would use.

I love Oxydol.....just seems that the ones you get from the dollar stores are somewhat watered down, as compared to the grocery stores in the 100 ounce size or larger seem thicker....but you get what you can find for your area....the scents are great

I love Oxydol powder - works GREAT, hard to find. Our DolGen stores only carry the liquid...which seems better than the original Oxydol liquid version (not so watered down now). I found $1 samples at Dollar Tree of original liquid Oxydol and they were very watery (10 uses).

I found Oxydol in powder form here in Springfield at one of the local supermarkets (Price Cutter) for $4.89 a box. It's 100 ozs. I intend on buying one when I start to run low on the All powder (by Unilver) I got at Big Lots for $4.50.

The only detergent my partners Mom will use,they drive to Virginia to get it,as it is not in stores here anymore!

Oxydol Powder

My local Dollar General has the 50 load Smells So Good powder and the 66 load liquids. I like the powder, it cleans and leaves a fresh scent.

who was Aunt clara on Bewitched used to advertise Oxydol Detergent when P&G was the manufacturer.I'll always remember their green granuals mixed with the white.The aroma was also unforgetable. I liked the original sents of Oxydol,Tide,Cheer,All,Super Suds,Salvo,Dash,Vim,Wisk and Ivory.Punch was also a nice aroma as well as Cold Power which had the same aroma as Fresh Start,the original,not current line.Ajax powder also had that same scent.Now,I prefer Gain.All of my customers get compliments on how nice they smell!Because the Affinities spin so rapidly,I set the dryer on Delicate (when I don't hang them on the lines) and it helps keep the scent noticeable.The clothes that are hung out on the lines smell even better.
