I came across this yesterday. So am I to understand this zipper track is what is supposed to make the bag child-proof? I see that you can't really do much with a plastic bag but when I think of "child-proof packaging", I think of these push and turn caps on medicine bottles or some caustic cleaners. A zipper track... that's what we have on dog food.

Since it is only package that is defective and not actual pods, one foresees sometime in future a vast number of loose pods offered on secondary/discount market.

This or depending upon how much shelf life is left returned pods simply repackaged and sold on. Again perhaps to secondary/discount market.

Associated costs of recall can be written off by P&G as loss in CODB. But they can get some of that back by selling on pods that are in good condition.
