One of those dishwashers look neat in that plated-copper (not coppertone)...!

Wonder more about the finish used; it's probably not the actual metal, unlike stainless steel or chrome, or is it?

I Think....

....That finish was lacquered copper plating on steel, not solid copper.

Keith in St. Louis (westingman123) has one, I think; he could tell you more. Making that in solid copper was probably already unaffordable in the '50s.

Chambers was big into that finish; in fact, I have never seen the early built-ins from them in anything but that finish in the early years.
