Love the Lustron. We have one walking distance from our house. Sadly, it's a student rental (roll tide, y'all), and it is in terrible condition.

I love the Christmas stuff! I got lucky with a few of the marbled light bulbs in an old set, and my boys love, love, love them.

All that in one weekend!!!

Yes!, When we travel, we get OFF the interstate and onto the backroads, we try to go thru every town , then we stop at all old hardware stores, all thrift stores and all antique stores, a three hour trip takes six or eight hours sometimes , but as you see, its worth it!!

That Hamilton Beach ice cream freezer is from the early 1930's because it has the NRA (National Recovery Administration) emblem on the box.  The NRA was an early New Deal relief program for industries.  And, I love that it specifies that it won't work on DC current.  The screw in plug is priceless too.

Thank you for sharing your super great finds with us. Could you show a picture of the bottom of the stainless steel prssure cooker, please? It is a very intersting looking cooker. Most of the Presto stainless steel cookers had a very recessed bottom to allow for the bulging out under pressure and were not good for electric stoves. The ones I used also had terrible heat distribution problems with anything other than water in them.

You are so right about old hardware stores off the beaten path being repositories for housewares treasures and I am just the suppository for getting them moved out. About 1980, I stopped in one in VA in the middle of nowhere and found a brand new, in the box Corningware double boiler that had been discontinued in the 60s, I believe. As an added bonus, I got to listen to a woman tell the cashier that she discovered that her well was down when she went to wash so she was having to switch back to the wringer washer until it rained.
