Hungarian Diet
Well, Guys, I have a few friends that are Hungarian. They like Kielbasi but it is a little different that the Polish in that it has more garlic in it and a slightly different taste. They also make cabbage rolls like the Polish but again, different seasonings. They also like Pork. They make a dish out of pork butts that has garlic and paprika pounded into it. It is very delicious. It think the dish is called, (help me out here Mike with the spelling), Petchine??? Their filled Christmas cookies are Kifli. They also make a great goulash. At the Hungarian butcher in a town near by, I can get all of these items, along with a smoked crispy paprika bacon. Yummy. Another goodie is Salona. It is basically fat bck or bacon, which is scored held over a wood fire, then the rendering of the fat is dripped on rye bread along with onions cucumbers and tomatoes and eaten. Well..so much for now.
Mike, Please let me know if I have left out anything. I cannot think of all of the Hungarian foods that I have eaten throught the years.
Toggles, See Hungarian is a little close to Polish.
