Saw Persil in the Fall River, Ma Shaw's for $7.99. All they had was original and the scented version. I'm headed to Wal Mart tomorrow so I'll check the price there

From what I can tell, the Persil Perls are the same as the German Persil MegaPerls and it also contains Oxygen bleach. Since Henkel makes several versions of Persil, each sold in different Euro countries some with different formulations, It is hard to distinguish what we mean when we say Euro Persil. The Persls seem to be the same as the German Perls, the liquids work very well and I have the liquid German versions and don't think they do any better than the Persil Pro liquids we have.
The things I miss are that there is not a detergent for colors and that there are not more powdered versions sold, but I have to face facts. Powders are not being sold in the USA - liquids are the thing, and the USA market is not going to buy a detergent just for colors.

Wow...Agree with Laundress about lack of Oxygen bleach
Today I did a load of white underwear containing ....underwear stains. Many of these soiled items have been sitting in the hamper for at least 12 days. It was a small load of 39 items so the estimated cycle time was reduced from 1 hour 54 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. I used 3 rinses instead of 2 and used Persil Proclean 2n1 liquid. I dosed to just under line 1. I would normally use the Perls in this load because they contain oxygen bleach. Wash temp was 120F.
I have to say there is not one stain or mark remaining. Nothing. And everything is white and well....sparkling clean. Really surprised at this performance and without any type of bleach or pre-treatment.

The 2-in-1 is a great detergent! I'm almost out and though I def prefer powder, I am seriously thinking of getting another bottle of it.
I'm loving the Persil ProClean 2 in1, too, Joe!
My only quibble is that even dosing at Line 1, things get pretty sudsy during long washes, as when using the Allergy option (35 minute wash tumble) or the Sanitize cycle (70 minute wash tumble). It breaks down well during the two rinses, but it causes a loss of the 'lift and drop' wash action during the last half of the wash for all but full-capacity loads. The clothes just roll over and over at the bottom of the tub. This isn't as big an issue in warm water and/or cycles with a normal wash time (14-20 minutes on the Frigidaire). Part of this is the fault of the washer, which has very shallow fins. It doesn't take a lot of detergent buoyancy to lose the lift and drop.
Don't have the same problem with Tide Ultra Stain Release (Turbo) until the last few minutes of very long washes in 150-degree water.
These detergents are formulated to do their job in the 75-90 degree water that most machines deliver as 'warm' water these days. Heating to 150 in the Sanitize cycle super-charges the suds.

I've noticed the higher amount of suds too...more so when I use my RCA portable machine and add some STPP to it. Like you said though, the rinse water is crystal clear...even after just 1 rinse. I just love the smell of it! I've been using it on my sheets for that reason.
I'm almost out of my Sears Ultra Plus. It's a great detergent but I may not buy it again just because of it's lack of fragrance. I'm either going to get some Cheer powder...or my ultimate favorite the A&H Oxi Plus Fresh Scent. OMG the fragrance drives me mad...in a good way. I LOVE it. But that I would def add some STPP to help increase it's cleaning performance.

When I first started using Persils 2 in 1 the scent gagged me, I hated it, but I've learned to be careful with dosing and the Speed Queen rinses so much better than my old neutral drain. I actually like the scent now after the wash is done, just a fresh clean scent. And it gets every stain I throw at it out, I rarely pretreat so this is important.
The Pearls, I love the scent..I recently got Euro Perls for whites and compared them side to side with Walmarts, there is a difference in size and shape of the perls, with Euros being just slightly larger, the scent is the same but the Euro perls have a stronger scent, also walmarts pearls have more blueish powder mixed in. I think the Euro does a better job, but I can't be 100% sure yet. Cheryl

I took some clips of my whites wash and rinses, and also took some still pics. Pic 1 is the first rinse water in the tub while the tumble was at a pause, Pic 2 is the wash water after it was pumped out of the machine, Pic 3 is the 2nd rinse water after it was pumped out of the machine. This is the wash I referred to in post 839111. I was using a temperature of 120F and the wash portion lasted about 45 minutes.

Now available at the Shop Rite, Rio Grande, NJ.
Bought some Power Pearls (large bottle) at Kroger today (Columbia, SC). Yeah, the cap was not tightened. It's a powdered detergent in a liquid detergent bottle. The return drain hole is too small for the powder to easily return to the bottle should it get turned upside down or on it's side. I do like the fragrance. It was $11.99, but I had a $1.50 discount coupon for any laundry detergent (Kroger coupon). Still kind of pricey, but I wanted to try it.
I think I'll dose it with the old standby Sears scoop I use to dose the Tide HE I usually use.
