I picked up a bottle of this product on the way home tonight.

Washed and am currently drying a colors load right now.

I should explain that my dryer vents outside and is located on the level below, directly below the computer I'm typing on.

I have my window open, on an evening of pelting rain, basking in the warm, fresh fragrance wafting through my window.

This is beautiful, almost spiritual. Very relaaaaxing...

Just wanted to share...

Persil Colour liquigel is my Daily Driving colour product. Its absolutely great in my Hotpoint. Washes well and rinses to perfection when using 100 mls or less. But i do prefer the colour powder but its very rare to be able to buy a 5kg box. 3kg are rare still but not as economical for me to buy. When i need the powder i just buy the 1kg box and make it last. The liquid is just the ticket for the 40.c acrylic wash i use for dark t shirts, work shirts and stuff like that. It gives a nice sudsy wash on a 40 non colourfast cotton wash for jeans too. Nick

It's funny you should mention that, lol.

I peeled back the English instructions on the very streamlined-looking bottle, and found a set of very stern-sounding instructions on the back of the bottle.

The first thing I thought of was the new Snuggle 3x lavender bottle's label (you know, the one with a picture of a very-blissed out Snuggle bear, looking very much as if he was on Ecstasy or something!

Amazing how these products are marketed....

Henkel UK products are not sold in the United States, which is Henkel Germany's territory. The only reason Henkel Germany has it's foot past the US door is because Miele USA imports certian product to go with their appliance line offering.

Henkel Germany actually owns or is partner to many American companies, including Ecolab. Though these days there are few truly American consumer goods makers any more as nearly all the major players are multi-national conglomerates.

Persil Pearls or beads or something like that

I recently bought a box of this stuff at ABT Electronics here in the burbs, Its a slightly bigger box than what you'd get for tide, but I think you're supposed to use less.
I use it on my whites, and it does clean them well, however the scent is a bit on the strong side...
Just my 2 cents...

Oh yeah that box of detergent was something like $40!!

One must be a certified Miele dealer to sell Persil as they are the only one who import into the United States. Have found the cheapest prices are direclty from Miele, though some dealers will offer free shipping which can help bring costs down. Still, find ordering directly from Miele to be cheapest option, but then we are only one state away from them, so shipping is not that dear.

Yep, the appliance store that's in my neighborhood is a Miele dealer. That's where I picked up the liquid Persil.

If you go to Miele's website, they have a "Laundry Products" lookup, where you just key in your zipcode and they give you a list of stores in your area where Persil is sold.

The Snuggle triple concentrated product I picked up in my local Pathmark supermarket, as well. I don't think it's everywhere, yet.

WOW...

only 2 places in Orlando...and I've never heard of either place...either I don't get out much or I can't afford anything in the stores :>)

Yeah, their prices ARE out of hand, especially for someone like me with a TL (although my water is very soft)....

What are the Henkel UK products?

Stateside, Henkel owns Dial Corp (Purex). I wouldn't even think of comparing Purex to Henkel Persil. Henkel also makes Mexican Viva detergent, which is also far superior to Purex and the best Mexican detergent out there (IMHO).

Filetti, Glist, and various other household cleaning products. They also manufacture detergents for supermarkets here, mainly Sainsbury's and Lidl. At Sainsbury's until recently you were able to buy Persil Megaperls under the Sainsbury's premium Perform brand for quite cheaply, and has to be one of the best detergents that was ever sold. A shame that it was pulled so quickly, however Henkel still make liquid detergent, liquid capsules, laundry tablets, and fabric softeners for Sainsbury's Perform range.

Henkel are pushing the Filetti range here at the moment (perhaps to compete with Fairy Non Bio, seeming as Fairy Non Bio is becoming less pure by the day), so who knows if they may release their powder/megaperls here under a different name, in the same way that in France Henkel Persil is sold under the Le Chat brand. Same formula, logo style and packaging - just a different name on the box.

I love Persil

I have seen them selling it on e-bay, the UK verson.I am getting some today when I go to Seattle.I get it from Crossroads appliance in Beleview. It is 46.95, being that I am fron Roegon, I do not pay the Sales Tax. Oregon is Sales tax free, and that extends to Washington state with my Driver's licence. :) ---Jon, how old is your Miele?

Ritchie - it's a 2004 series model, but I bought it in May 2005 as it was heavily reduced as it was end-of-line. Basically got £1200 worth of machine for £650 :-).

The packaging of the UK store brands look so...well, distinctive compared to ours. I think some of our supermarket chains are a little behind in packaging quality, although I buy mostly house brands for non-laundry stuff and find the actual goods to be the geniune article...

I was going to mention the packaging of those detergents too. Quite brilliant and intelligent looking. The box photos indicate what the product is to be used on. Here in America, all kinds of wild colours and colorful graphics dominate the detergent aisle in the super stores.

We use the UK Persil. We have a bottles of all the liquids and a box of the Bio Persil Powder and an box of Non-Bio powder. We use a TL machine too, but we never have to use more than 25ml of the liquid and 75 ML of the powder to get things clean and the rinse water very clear. We tend to use the liquids on things that are not so dirty and the powders on things that are really dirty. The only Persil UK detergent I don't like it the Persil Aloe Vera. It cleans well, but has a strange odor that we don't really like.
Needless to say we have had these bottles for about a year now and still have plenty left!
