It's important to note not to just go by the brand name, Nutro like all the other brands sells a variety of mixes and even some Nutros other mixes aren't the same thing as their Lamb & Rice and may contain more grains and fillers. You have to read the labels without fail to see what's in there and in what order. Most people don't, they just go by the brand name and think an expensive or big name has to be the best which is pure folly.
Now that reminds me of another story when I got my first Border Collie, Bob, I asked my vet who flogged Science Diet in his practice, what should I feed him. He told me aside, to feed him Safeways No Name Dry (no soy) because it was actually better than Science Diet LOL. Also it was the only brand of dry dog food (in Canada) that carried the Canadian Vetrinary Seal of Approval. Not Purina, Science Diet, Iams, none of them. Anyways, Bob thrived on that stuff, never got overweight, had the shiniest coat, and it was inexpensive, about $8 for a 20 pound bag.
